Routes into the Science Industries
There is a huge range of job and career opportunities available in the science-based industries.
There are great careers on offer working for companies at the leading edge of discovery, development and new technology.
Routes into work include apprenticeships, and higher-level apprenticeships and for graduates there are opportunities for career progression through acquiring new skills and continuing professional development.
Apprenticeships in the sector go from Level 2 through to Levels 6 and 7 (6 equates to a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree is at level 7).
Degree apprenticeships are a newer and alternative way of studying for a degree without the costs of being a student, while gaining valuable industry experience. More and more science employers are complementing their graduate recruitment schemes with level 7 apprenticeship programmes where their trainee recruits study for master’s degrees or professional qualifications.
