Science Industry Partnership Process Industries (SIPPI)
The Science Industry Partnership (SIP) has a ‘Process Industries’ member forum with in its governance structure as from January 2018 - Science Industry Partnership Process Industries (SIPPI). This forum focuses on the skills interests of the chemical, petrochemical and petroleum sectors, especially those companies operating high hazard COMAH sites, including engineering apprenticeships and apprenticeships in general, process safety, engineering skills, competence management, and asset integrity. The formation of this forum allowed for the integration of Downstream members into the SIP community. SIPPI has agreed Terms of Reference and a Business Plan for 2019, and meets 3-4 times per year in London.
Activities for 2019 include SIPPI having a major sign-posting role for Competence, working closely with the COMAH Strategic Forum, owning the Gold Standards skills frameworks, mapping the certification/accreditation required by craft trades, and monitoring the development of the Engineering/Manufacturing T level.
Any SIP members operating high hazard (COMAH) sites are very welcome to join. Please contact Kate for more information.
