Engineering and Manufacturing Route Review

The much anticipated Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) Engineering and Manufacturing Route Review commenced in October 2019.  A total of 59 apprenticeship standards are under review with the Institute focusing on their quality and long-term validity.

This major review is looking at the Route’s Occupational Map and the following SIATE Apprenticeship Standards are included.

SIATE has, via sub-groups, been proactively considering the content of these standards, recognising the importance of the IfATE review in ensuring that they stay up to date with changes to industry regulation, technology and the way people work and to ensure quality apprenticeship standards within the sector and submitted robust recommendations into the consultation in January.

IfATE Recommendations as a result of the consultation will be published in Winter 2020/21 and sent to the Trailblazer Chairs to review and respond.

Employers inputting to this review include:

GSK, Sterling Pharmaceuticals, SABIC, Alpek, Huntsman, Conoco Phillips, Fujifilm, Novartis, Aesica, Cristal, CPI, Eastwood Park, CATCH, NHS, British Sugar, Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, NCCUK, Marine Concepts, Consuta, Indestructable Paints
