Introduction to SIATE
SIATE was formerly known as LSIS (Life Sciences & Industrial Sciences) Trailblazer group and was established in 2013 following the Richards Review of apprenticeships. LSIS was one of the initial 8 trailblazers.
The purpose of LSIS was to develop apprenticeship standards through a trailblazer group of at least 10 employers.
LSIS now SIATE pioneered many of the changes in apprenticeships, and supported businesses through the change from apprenticeship frameworks to standards. The group collaborated on best practice with colleagues not only inside of the industry, but also outside of the industry. The group had and continues to have an open and inclusive membership with a central steering team that oversees several task and finish groups to maximise efficiency.
The SIATE Group has shaped the way forward for our workforce, developing new apprenticeship standards reflective of employer and future industry needs.
