Members of SIP North east continue to work collaboratively and share best practice.
At the July meeting chaired by Matt Bradshaw of Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Tony Flannigan of Johnson Matthey gave a presentation on the innovative Commercial Excellence programme they are now running worldwide. This both supports current talent development and attracting new talent to the organisation. Tony shared a range of insights about the programme and its impact.
The regional group discussed progress and challenges in attracting and retaining a more diverse workforce and shared on-going concerns about the feasibility of T level placements.
SIP members also heard from SIP Skills Lead Jenny Clucas on developments with SIP Process Industries (SIPPI), the SIP’s strategic group focused on this part of the sector, and its competence role; Jenny also provided a Skills Policy update.
SIP North East confirmed ongoing backing for the SIP Ambassador programme and a second cohort of local ambassadors will be trained in October.
